Weaving on the Ashford 8- Shaft Table Loom

Enjoy some soothing scenes from within the Fiberculture Farm fiber studio! This week I worked on my first woven item, for my Kentucky State University Small Scale Farm Grant project. In the following clip, you’ll see me use a few of the new funded equipment pieces to unskein my yarn, wind it onto bobbins for my boat shuttles, and then weave the yarn on the table loom into a completed bolt of locally sourced and crafted fabric. The yarn I used was local 100% Alpaca fiber, and is incredibly soft and of course, all natural.

The resulting fabric can be left as is, or can then be used to create any number of woven items. Now I just need to decide what else I want to create with it!

I hope you enjoy the inside look, and feel free to leave a comment below and share your thoughts and questions!
